- Swim Instructor
The Swim Instructor is responsible for the safety of program participants in swim lessons classes. This position is responsible for the planning, organizing, teaching, and evaluation of swim classes in line with the YUSA national standards for the YMCA Swim Lessons program. The Swim Instructor serves as a representative of the YMCA by providing quality swim lessons, while carrying out the aquatic policies and procedures of the YMCA. The Swim Instructor works under the supervision and guidance of the Aquatics Director/Program Director and branch Executive leadership.
Education: High School diploma or GED preferred. Must be able to comprehend and enforce all rules and safety requirements surrounding pool safety.

Certification Requirements | CPR/AED and First Aid certified. YMCA certified in area of expertise (swim lessons) or equivalent certification preferred. Obtain YMCA certification/ trng. in area of expertise w/in 6 mos. of hire. | CPR/AED and First Aid certified. YMCA certified in area of expertise (swim lessons) or equivalent certification. Note: All Aquatics team members must be at least 16 years old and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check. Aquatics employees are eligible for random drug screen testing.
