Position Summary

Under the direction of the Membership and Enrichment Director and the Enrichment Dance Instructor, the aide(s) are responsible for the assisting with day-to-day operations of the Enrichment development program. All staff will be responsible for guiding the physical development of children aged 5 years old and older. Aides will serve as a representative of the YMCA by providing quality customer service, ensuring safe, enriching, fun, and effective classes to all participants. Dance Aide should have a dancing background and experience working with children.

Essential Functions

• Helps the Enrichment Dance Instructor implement dance classes, experiences, and routines, under the guidance of the Membership & Enrichment Director.
• Works with the Enrichment Dance Instructor to ensure proper maintenance of dance equipment and materials equipment.
• Meets the individual physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs of the children participants that invites exploration, and promotes positive play.
• Able to communicate effectively with parents and youth participants. 5. Provides careful, attentive supervision, and is alert at all times. 6. Helps to provide a program that adheres to all YMCA health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Dance-specific experience working with children and providing guidance youth participants
• Highly motivated self-starter that can provide supporting role for Instructor.
• Positive attitude and strong ability to build relationships among parents and children.
• CPR/ First Aid certification
• Ability to work various weekdays, including Saturday’s
