Celebrate 50+ Years of Hula, Music, and Aloha

Saturday, October 18, 10 am - 2 pm

Join us at the Nuʻuanu YMCA for a special celebration honoring Kumu Hula Auntie Carolee Nishi, whose five decades of teaching hula, music, and Hawaiian culture have touched thousands of lives.

This free, family-friendly event welcomes all ages to experience the beauty of Hawaiian traditions through lei-making, ʻukulele demonstrations, plant care tips, hands-on activities, free hula lessons, and live performances by keiki and kūpuna.

All Day Hawaiian Culture Workshop

If you would like to deepen your learning, stay for our immersive, all-day cultural workshop from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The workshop fee is $85 and includes a Hawaiian lunch, with hands-on classes in hula, lei-making, chanting, featherwork, cooking, music, and more.
