Convenient care for City and County of Honolulu program participants
For children enrolled in the City and County of Honolulu Summer Fun Program, the YMCA offers Summer Plus, providing supervised care and activities before and after Summer Fun hours. Children enjoy a variety of activities, including sports, arts and crafts, games, reading, and more.
Summer Plus Hours
- Before Care: 6:00 AM–8:30 AM
- After Care: 2:00 PM–5:30 PM
Important Information
- Children must be enrolled in the City and County of Honolulu Summer Fun Program to participate in Summer Plus.
- A minimum of 20 children is required for each Before Care program and each After Care program at participating sites. Programs are subject to cancellation if minimum enrollment is not met.
Registration
The City and County of Honolulu Department of Parks and Recreation determines Summer Plus locations and providers for each Summer Fun site and manages Summer Fun registrations.
Before a child can register for Summer Plus before- and after-care, the City must verify that the child is registered for Summer Fun. Because Summer Fun registration records are maintained by the City, Summer Plus registration links will be emailed directly by the City to eligible Summer Fun participants.
June 4, 2026 Update: If you registered for a Summer Fun site, please watch for an email from the City and County of Honolulu Department of Parks and Recreation containing your Summer Plus registration link. Registration links will be sent directly to families whose Summer Fun registrations have been verified by the City.

Q: Why can't the YMCA just provide the registration link?
A: The City must first verify that your child is enrolled in Summer Fun before allowing registration for Summer Plus. Because only the City maintains Summer Fun registration records, the City will email Summer Plus registration links directly to families whose Summer Fun registrations have been verified.
