Convenient care for kids during summer school
For students who have completed grades K-5 and are enrolled in a summer school program, these before- and after-school care options provide a safe and enriching environment in the hours before and after summer school.
After-School A+ Summer Program
The YMCA offers an affordable after-school summer program at DOE after-school A+ sites. Students enjoy a healthy snack, supervised homework time, and a variety of arts, crafts, science, sports, games, and more.
Hours vary by location.
To qualify for the Summer A+ Program, children must be enrolled in the summer program and eligible for the A+ program.
Program availability at your child’s elementary school depends on after-school enrollment of at least 20 children.
Rate: $240 per child per month.

Before summer school
The YMCA offers affordable, early-morning childcare at schools before summer school. Depending on the school, the program starts between 5:30 and 6:30 a.m., Monday through Friday. The morning schedule includes supervised activities, breakfast, and being escorted to class. Program fees vary according to the individual school’s calendar.
The Y will not be running Before Summer School programs for summer 2025.
