Summer Y Teen Club

Y Teen Club is the ultimate summer experience for pre-teens ready to grow, connect, and have fun!

  • Ages: Students who will have completed Grades 6-7 by June 2026
  • Dates and times: June 1 - July 31, 8am - 4pm (drop off: 7-8am and pick up: 4-5:30pm)
  • Fee: Free thanks to generous donors (regularly priced at $2,565)
  • YMCA Locations: Kaimuki-Waialae Y, Kalihi Y, Leeward Y, Mililani-West Oahu Y, Nu‘uanu Y, and Windward Y
  • What’s included:
    • Service Learning: Make a difference with community projects.
    • Stay Active: Enjoy fitness, sports, and outdoor fun
    • Culinary Creations: Get creative in the kitchen
    • Problem-Solving: Build skills through exciting challenges

Summer Junior Leadership

Give your teen a summer full of growth, fun, and connection! This program blends leadership development, teamwork, and community service with exciting experiences.

  • Ages: Students who will have completed Grades 8-11 by June 2026
  • Dates and times: June 1 - July 31, 8am - 4pm (drop off: 7-8am and pick up: 4-5:30pm)
  • Fee: Free thanks to generous donors (regularly priced at $900)
  • YMCA Locations: Kaimuki-Waialae Y, Kalihi Y, Leeward Y, Mililani-West Oahu Y, Nu‘uanu Y, and Windward Y
  • What’s included:
    • Day Camp Internship: Work with kids, gain mentorship, and build skills while exploring career paths
    • Overnight Retreat at Camp Erdman: Set personal goals, build leadership skills, and connect with peers in a fun camp setting
    • Youth & Government: Learn how to research issues, understand legislation, and advocate for causes that matter
    • Social & Service Events: Make friends while giving back to the community
    • Summer Membership: Free membership for ages 13-18 that includes full access to fitness facilities and classes at local Ys

Windward Aquatic Academy

Dive into leadership at the Windward Aquatic Academy! Designed for future swim instructors and lifeguards, this program builds water safety skills while strengthening communication, problem-solving, and teamwork—essential for any job. Choose from two leadership pathways: Swim Instructor Development or Lifeguard Development.

  • Ages: Students who are in or completed grades 6-10
  • Dates and times: Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm
    • Session 1: June 1-12
    • Session 2: June 15-26
  • Fee: Thanks to generous donors, it’s FREE!
  • Eligibility: Participants must be enrolled in the Summer Y Teen Club or Summer Junior Leadership Program at Windward.
